At Prague Castle

We were in Prague Castle or Pražský hrad in Czech this week. It was still bright even when it was already six in the evening. We climbed up the stairs (almost 200 steps if our counting was right) in between pauses. I was carrying our daughter’s stroller with her riding on it, so it was quite heavy. It was a good exercise for me though.

The tourists and visitors at the Castle at that late time were close to nil, a big difference when you go there during day time when throngs of tourists from every part of the world gather to appreciate the medieval beauty of the buildings and its historic background. It was a perfect moment to pose for photos especially for those who don’t like posing with big crowds milling around.

Within the castle grounds is the famous gothic building of St. Vitus Cathedral which was unfortunately already closed when we got there. Though the castle complex is open until midnight starting April to September.

We also missed the changing of guards’ ceremony which takes place every hour. When we got out of the castle, there weren’t any guards standing at the entrance anymore.
