Colorful Rhododendrons at the Pruhonice Park

Drive out approximately 10-15 kilometers away from the Prague center to Pruhonice where the Pruhonice Park is – a masterpiece in European landscaping. The park has a land area of 250 hectares beautifully landscaped with local and imported exotic plants. It has a unique 3-hectare alpine garden with various rocks and hillsides where thousands of alpine plants, perennials and trees are grown as part of the park. They also have collections of iris, peony, rose, daylily and water lily but the most famous is its collection of thousands of rhododendrons from 100 species and cultivars. The rhododendrons in full bloom fills up the park with their bright colors in this season of spring.

Tips: If you plan to visit the park, do so on weekdays or early mornings if possible to avoid the crowds. We went there on a Saturday afternoon and there was a long queue in the ticket booth. Too many people can spoil the romantic and relaxing feel of the park.

Opening hours from May to September is from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Entrance fee starts from a small fee of 40 czk per person. Children under 6 years old and disabled persons are free of charge.
